Most universities in Ghana accept online applications. You will therefore make your application in the university’s online application portal. The systems are designed to give you enough time to apply. You don’t need to finish all in a day – you can save your progress and sign back in anytime. If you’re applying for 2020 entry, read this article to help you fill in your university’s online application.

Are you ready to start your application to study with a university in Ghana? If your answer is YES, and you have a good idea of where you'd like to study and which programme you'd like to take, the great news is that most universities are now accepting online applications. It takes just 30-40 minutes to apply to study with your university of choice!

Before you apply

Make sure you have electronic copies of all supporting documentation to attach to your online application. Most universities will require your previous academic results for WASSCE, (transcripts, certificates and references for graduate programmes). For international students, you will need a language proficiency test results. After certifying that you have legible electronic copies of your documents, you now have to purchase the e-voucher that contains access credentials to log into the admissions portal. Some universities like Ashesi still allow paper applications.

To start an online application;

If you are starting a new application, you will need to click on the tab marked 'Create Account' or ‘Log In’ to begin. If you have already created an account and started an application, you can simply enter your PIN and your password into the form to continue your application.

1. You must scratch the silver panel on your e-voucher to reveal your login credentials

2. You now visit your university’s application portal link or Post your paper application to the address as advised.

What Happens Next?

• Make sure you answer all of the required questions and provide correct phone number and email address for your university to contact you.

• Make sure to click on the SUBMIT button.

• You'll likely get an email or SMS confirmation. This email will contain your unique Application ID Reference Number and provide you with a link to check application status.
