Why You Should Take Advantage of Open Days.

Student Life

Generally, open days are when universities open their doors for potential students and parents to visit and experience them first-hand.

Open days help students decide on what and where they would like to study. Most universities use open days as an opportunity to show students what is on offer and can usually tell them more about the university than you will get from the prospectus. Aside from the experience, students also have the chance to see what the campus and the local area are like. Students can interact with staff and current students and discover what future university life could be like.

As a potential student, you are encouraged to attend open days because it gives you an opportunity to visit a university and be happy with the decisions you make when choosing a course and place to study. Staff and student ambassadors are available to answer any questions as well as provide detailed information about the university, departments, courses, student finance and more.

Open days are informal events hence do not have a strict dress code. These events are mostly about universities trying to impress you. Make sure to dress comfortably but be aware that you may be making an impression on future tutors. To find out about a university’s open day, check out the university’s website or call to schedule a visit.
