How Ashesi University Grades Students

Programmes

At Ashesi, student work is evaluated throughout the semester. The university uses examinations, quizzes, research and writing assignments, projects and participation in class discussions to compute grades and determine your final grade. Final exams and/or projects comprise 30 - 50 percent of the final grade for a course.

 

At Ashesi, not all courses will assign A's or E's for instance. This is dependent on the quality of work a student submits.

 

Ashesi encourages attendance and participation in class discussions and thus, encourages faculty members to take attendance and participation into account in assigning students’ grades. However, each faculty determines how class attendance affects students’ grades,

All grades earned in all classes contributes to the student’s grade point average (GPA).

A student repeats a class when they obtain grades D+, D or E.
