Ashesi University’s mission is to “educate ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa”. Ashesi provides the finest liberal arts education in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering and Social Sciences. Ashesi prepares its students with entrepreneurial mindset, to be innovative and empathetic leaders within their communities.
In 2018, Ashesi received a Presidential Charter becoming an independent degree-granting institution in Ghana after its founding 16 years ago. With gender balance parity, 20 nationalities, and 2,200 students and Alumni, Ashesi University was founded in a rented home in 2002. The University which started with 30 students now has a total enrolment of over 1,000 students and 1,200 Alumni. Sited on a 100-acre land at Berekuso in the Eastern Region, Ashesi’s founder, Patrick Awuah, was inspired to start this institution to shape the future of Africa’s tertiary education. Its Alumni include, Regina Honu of multiple award-winning Soronko Academy, Kabiru Seidu, who recently won in a UNICEF Virtual Reality challenge, and many more.
