Today’s world is powered by computers (Computer Scientists). You can now shop securely online; withdraw money from the ATM, process and print your documents in real-time; fly in the air in airplanes, print in 3D; know the sex of your baby before birth. – all these are just a few of the challenges that computer scientists are confronting every day by using their technical analysis, design and programming skills that they learn at university to create better and more intelligent tools for a more exciting and improved world. Computing Science encompasses both the theory as well as the practice of using or operating computers. This programme is usually ran for 4 years in most universities in Ghana.
This programme is widely taught as full time or part-time at all levels.

Students are assessed by any combination of three assessment methods: quizzes/interim/mid-semester tests, and project works completed throughout the course; and written examinations at the end of each course. The exact mix of these methods differs between subject areas, years of study and individual courses. Most degree projects are typically assessed on the basis of a written dissertation during your final year of study.
